The Bible is a collection of 66 books, religious texts or scriptures, divided into 2 main parts, Old Testament and New Testament. The word “Bible” comes from the greek word τὰ βιβλία, tà biblía, it means “The Books”.
The 66 Bible Books are not placed in chronical order but are placed by type of book. Pentateuch, known as the Torah, which means Law, Lessons. The pentateuch is also known as the 5 books of Moses (Penta means 5). Then Historian, Poetry, Major Prophets, and the Minor Prophets (it reference to the size of the books, not the importance or impact), Gospels (means literally: Good News), The Epistles of Paul, The General Epistles, and the Prophecy written by John.
The Bible has many names like The Holy Bible, The Christian Bible, The Good Book, Book of Books, Good News Bible, Word of God and The (Holy) Scriptures.
The bible has multiple authors over a timespan of more than 1500 years. The bible book Job is believed to be the oldest (exact date unknown), and Revelation the most recent one.
